On June 6th of 2022, the Indiana Department of Transportation removed the historic overhead bridge on State Road 9, North of Rome City.  Construction of a standard road is underway.  To get to the shop, from State Road 6, nothing has changed.  You are through traffic and will just turn onto State Road 9 North.

When coming down State Road 9 from the North, go through Wolcotville, past the Dollar General, then turn right on 1150N, turn left on N200E, turn right on E Northport Rd, turn left on N150E, turn left at the 4 – way stop, which is E1000N and drive into Rome City.  This is actually a very fast re-route.

Take a deep breath, this is a lovely drive through the territory where I was raised.  You will be seeing 2 historic stone mason homes.  Look for them!  At the first mason home was a tiny orchard, Chapman Orchards, this is where, in a cinder block building, all of the cider was pressed for my Dad’s Orchard.  Our Orchard was further down on Northport Road.  It is all gone now, with just a few of the old growth trees still visible on the 230 acre farm.
